Wounded Heroes Program of Maine is an all-volunteer team of people. We do that so that as much funding as possible goes directly to our wounded servicemembers in need. As much as we work to support them in any way possible, the reality is that it takes money to meet their needs. Whether it be paying rent, buying a tank of heating oil, fixing a vehicle, or whatever; it costs money to help them. We welcome donations of cash, gift cards, gas cards, grocery cards, store gift cards (WalMart, Target, etc.) and like items.
Other ways to help us help them is by holding a Wounded Heroes fundraiser. This can be done is many ways; in conjunction with a business, a restaurant, a civic organization, a school, putting on public meals, a sporting event, a charity event such as a walkathon, a road run, a motorcycle run, a fishing tournament, and more.
We work with many groups to bring the communities in Maine together to provide ways for people to connect with our deserving servicemembers and show their support for their selfless sacrifices to our country and our way of life. We also welcome volunteer help during our own events such as Poker Runs, our annual Wounded Heroes Ride, our annual Thanksgiving Drive and Christmas Drive, and any other events we are part of.
Our heroes are humble, grateful, and it is so rewarding to be there for them in their time of need in appreciation for their service to all of us.
